Dr Judy Ku
Professional Bio
Dr Judy Ku is an internationally fellowship trained Cataract, Glaucoma & Anterior Segment surgeon based in Brisbane. She is also an honorary Clinical Professor at the Department of Optometry & Vision Science at QUT. Her passion for education shines through as she regularly lectures at QUT, specifically contributing to the Optometry therapeutics program. Moreover, she provides invaluable clinical supervision for optometrists participating in the Advanced Certificate in Glaucoma program.
She undertook sub-specialty fellowship training as a Glaucoma Fellow at the Singapore National Eye Centre specialising in Angle Closure Glaucoma followed by an Anterior Segment Fellowship at the University of Toronto specialising in Pterygium surgery, Anterior Segment and Ocular surface diseases.
Dr Ku has great interest in the development of a number of new technologies in the area of Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgeries & Cataract surgeries. Apart from having a number of publications in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a book chapter, she is also a regular reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. She has also received a number of awards including the ASCRS best presenter award. Outside of her demanding work schedule, she enjoys playing the piano and spending time with her husband & two young boys.
