The lecture (30mins) will cover the causes and effects of inflammatory and allergic conditions of local and systemic origin involving the anterior eye (skin, lid margins, ocular surface, limbus, cornea, anterior chamber). Early therapeutic interventions will be discussed as well as the implications of the disorders and associated further investigations that may be required.
Learning Objectives:
- The listeners should be able to pick up the wide variety of conditions that can lead to anterior segment inflammation, what early therapeutic interventions are useful before referral, what conditions will benefit from early referral, and what conditions could imply systemic conditions that may require medical investigation.
